Chris AKA Benji Kriis was born on July 2 in Nigeria. Her parents came to the United States in 1996. The eldest of five siblings growing up in Bronx, Ny. Raised in a Nigerian household, she had influences from many African and R&B artist music artists. Such as Wizkid, Yinka Ayefele, 2face Idibia, and Tiwa Savage, just to name a few. Her true love for music came from listening to different genres from hip hop, to rnb, soul, and soft rock. From the tender age of 10 she started to write her own raps and performing talent shows. Benji Kriis had so much passion she taught herself to play the piano. That was Benji Kriis’ start as a rapper and producer.

For a while she was making beats for local artists around her. It wasn’t until her third year of producing that she decided to take her love for music seriously and establish herself as a singing artist. Her style derives from Sade, music soul child, partynextdoor, and the likes of drake giving her a sultry, cool vibe to sound. Benji Kriis fell in love with music because of its vast and wide variety of expression. She believes in channeling her own personal experiences in life in her music and songwriting because it opens a door allowing you into her world, of wonderland and her mysterious abstract sound. Within her career, she plans for success. Producing for major artists and going far with her creativity. Breaking unexpected barriers in the music industry and worldwide. Also, eventually venturing out into other businesses, music is not the limit for Benji.
