J’Bria Iyalla discusses her book, “The Love We Share”.  This book provides a safe place for parents and children to express their emotions. So often, parents and children suppress their feelings because it has been taught that the expression of emotions is weak. However, this journal combats that idea. It is the author’s intention that through journaling, parents, and children become closer by learning to be vulnerable with one another. They believe that vulnerability builds intimacy in relationships and builds positive emotional support.  A vision given to her by God, she states this tool will definitely help bridge the gap of communication between parent and child.
